The Executive Director of PACC Policy, Mr. Kwame Anane Frempong participated in a one-day Canada Council on Africa (CCAfrica) Business Meeting, held at the Ontario Investment and Trade Centre. Canadian investors in the oil, mining, agriculture, technology, aviation and renewable energy sector attended the meeting.

The South African High Commission in Toronto hosted the event, which was on the theme “Africa is Open for Business”.

The meeting afforded PACC Policy Executive Director an opportunity to promote the global call for a clean energy economy campaign, which has already attracted thousands of signatories to join the “DivestInvest movement”.

Mr. Kwame Anane Frempong interacted with some key investors and encouraged them to invest in renewable energy (solar) and green economy. According to Mr. Frempong, there have been a growing number of investors who are redirecting their attention from carbon intensive energy sources into a more sustainable energy, referencing similar statement made by former UN Secretary General, Mr. Ban Ki-moon to the business community.

PACC Policy is committed to continue engaging the business community and private sector to ensure that the global campaign on clean energy economy is achieved.

We want to commend the leadership of Canada Council on Africa (CCAfrica) and South Africa High Commission for making it possible for us to attend this all-important meeting.
